Meditate, motivate, manifest your dreams.
Live in the moment, love every second.
Regret and worry, two thieves in disguise,
Stealing joy from our lives, with sorrowful eyes.
Regret cannot change the past, no matter how hard we try,
Worry cannot shape the future, it only makes us ask why.
So let us focus on the present, the here and now,
For this is where true happiness is found, somehow.
Enjoy each moment, each breath, each smile,
For in the present, we find life’s worth our while.
Do daily meditation, connect with your inner self,
Find peace, find calm, and let your spirit wealth.
Grow, flourish, and bloom, like a flower in the sun,
Be healthy, be happy, be beautiful, and be wealthy, everyone!
Good morning, dear friends, may your day shine bright,
May you be guided by love, and filled with delight.
Wishing you a wonderful Tuesday, may your day be blessed,
May you find joy in the present, and let your spirit rest.

The Mystery of You.
“Unraveling the Mystery of You”
Let go of the past, with all its weight and chains,And have faith that new beginnings will bring new gains. For you are not defined by what has been,But by the unknown possibilities that lie within. You think you know yourself, but do you really?Or are you just a stranger, living in your own skin?Your past mistakes and weaknesses, they don’t define,The strength and resilience that lies within your mind.So take the first step, and acknowledge your unknown,Let go of the need to control, and just be shown. That you don’t know yourself, is a liberating truth,It’s a new beginning, a chance to rediscover your youth. You’ll find strengths you never knew you had,Talents and abilities, that were just waiting to be had. You’ll discover a courage, that will guide you through,And a wisdom that will teach you, to navigate life anew.So don’t be held back, by what you think you know,Take a leap of faith, and let your true self grow. You are a mystery, waiting to be unraveled,A unique and precious gift, that’s yet to be unveiled.“आपके बारे में रहस्य को उजागर करना”

Bigger Than the Problem, Bigger Than You Think in English Hindi Marathi
Rise Above, Realize Your Potential
In the depths of our souls, a spark resides,A flame that flickers, yet never subsides.A potential that’s vast, a power that’s grand,A force that’s within us, waiting to expand. When problems arise, and doubts creep in,We think we’re powerless, and our hopes give in.But what if we saw, that we’re more than the test? That within us lies, a strength that’s truly the best? The problem’s not the problem, but our mindset’s the key,For when we see our potential, the problem’s no longer we.It’s a challenge, an opportunity, to grow and to rise,To tap into our inner strength, and reach for the skies. So let’s not be fooled, by the problem’s disguise,Let’s see it for what it is, a chance to realize,Our true potential, our inner might,And let’s rise above it, into the light. For we are capable, of more than we know,Our potential’s vast, and it’s waiting to grow.So let’s nurture it, let’s help it unfold,And let’s become the best version, of ourselves to behold. In the stillness, let’s reflect, on our inner strength,And let’s tap into our potential, to rise above the length,Of our doubts and fears, and let’s shine so bright,And let’s make our potential, our guiding light. So let’s unlock our potential, and let it soar,And let’s rise above our problems, to a place we’ve never known before.A place of inner peace, of strength and of might,Where our potential’s the guiding force, that shines so bright.“संभावनाओं को खोलना”

Flow with the river, and find peace in its gentle stream.
“River’s Wisdom”
In the depths of existence, a river flows free,A symbol of life, with its twists and destiny.Sometimes its waters are murky and gray,Reflecting the turmoil of a chaotic day.But then the skies clear, and the sun shines bright,And the river’s waters become a crystal delight. The ripples dance, and the river’s song is heard,As it flows effortlessly, without a single word. The seasons change, and the leaves fall like rain,And the river’s surface is a carpet of gold and grain. The logs and branches that float on its tide,Remind us to let go, and to step aside. For the river teaches a lesson so divine,To move on, to flow, to leave the past behind. To let go of worries, of fears and of pain,And to find peace in the river’s gentle rain.Like the river’s waters, our lives flow and change,Sometimes calm, sometimes turbulent, sometimes strange. But the river’s wisdom reminds us to be free,To flow with the current, wild and carefree. So let us learn from the river’s gentle flow,To move on, to let go, and to find peace as we grow. For in the river’s wisdom, we find our own,A reflection of life in the river’s gentle tone.In the stillness of the river’s quiet night,We find the peace that we seek in the river’s gentle light. So let us flow like the river’s waters so free,And find our peace in the river’s wisdom, wild and carefree.May the river’s teachings guide us on our way,And may we find peace in its gentle, flowing sway.In the silence, we hear the river’s voice,A whispered reminder to make a gentle choice. To let go of the past and to flow with the tide,And to find peace in the river’s gentle, flowing side.So let us flow like the river’s waters so free,And find our peace in the river’s wisdom, wild and carefree.“नदी की बुद्धिमत्ता”

Why Choosing Love is the Key to Happiness?
The Weight of Hate

Love is not something you do, it's something you are.
The True Nature of Love
Understanding Love
Love is often misunderstood as a feeling, an emotion, or an action. We tend to associate love with romantic relationships, familial bonds, or friendships. However, love is much more profound and fundamental to our very existence.Love is Not a Business
We often approach love with expectations, conditions, and attachments. We may feel that love requires effort, dedication, and hard work. However, this mindset can lead to disappointment, frustration, and heartache. Love is not a business transaction, where we give and take, expecting returns on our investment.Love is Not a Career
We may also view love as a career, where we strive to achieve success, recognition, and fulfillment. We may measure our love by external validation, social status, or material possessions. However, love is not a career path, where we climb the ladder of success or failure.Love is Not Even an Act
Love is often reduced to acts of kindness, generosity, or sacrifice. While these actions may be expressions of love, they are not love itself. Love is not something we do; it is something we are.Love is Your Very Nature
Love is the essence of our being, the core of our existence. It is the thread that connects us to ourselves, to others, and to the universe. Love is not something we acquire, achieve, or attain; it is something we already are.Embracing the True Nature of Love
When we understand that love is our very nature, we can let go of expectations, conditions, and attachments. We can approach love with openness, vulnerability, and receptivity. We can allow ourselves to be love, to express love, and to receive love.Love is not something we can grasp, achieve, or possess. Love is something we already are, something that flows through us, and something that connects us to all that exists. May we embrace the true nature of love and allow it to guide us on our journey.

Cultivating inner peace and happiness.
Happiness from Within | Mindfulness and meditation for happiness
Spirituality is often misunderstood as a mere philosophical concept or a religious dogma. However, at its core, spirituality is a deeply personal and transformative journey that seeks to awaken the human spirit to its true nature. The goal of spirituality, as the ancient wisdom goes, is to bring such happiness, which nobody can take away from you.
This profound statement echoes the words of the Dalai Lama, “Happiness is not something ready-made. It comes from your own actions.” Spirituality is not about seeking external sources of happiness, but rather about cultivating a deep sense of inner peace, joy, and fulfillment that is not dependent on external circumstances.
So, how does spirituality achieve this remarkable feat? The answer lies in its ability to connect us with our true selves and the world around us. As the spiritual teacher, Eckhart Tolle, so eloquently puts it, “The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but rather the thoughts about it. Be aware of your thoughts, but don’t be your thoughts. Watch your thoughts, but don’t be watched by your thoughts.”
Spirituality invites us to embark on a journey of self-discovery, to explore the depths of our own consciousness, and to awaken to the present moment. Through practices such as meditation, mindfulness, and prayer, we can cultivate a greater sense of awareness, clarity, and inner peace.
For example, the practice of mindfulness meditation has been shown to decrease stress, anxiety, and depression, while increasing feelings of happiness, compassion, and empathy. By focusing on the present moment, we can begin to let go of our attachment to negative thoughts, emotions, and experiences, and instead, cultivate a sense of gratitude, wonder, and awe.
Moreover, spirituality encourages us to connect with something greater than ourselves, whether that be a higher power, nature, or a sense of universal consciousness. This sense of connection can bring a profound sense of meaning, purpose, and belonging to our lives.
As the poet, Rumi, so beautifully expresses, “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop.” Spirituality reminds us that we are not separate, isolated individuals, but rather, we are interconnected, interdependent, and part of a larger web of life.
The goal of spirituality is not to provide a temporary escape from the challenges of life, but rather, to offer a profound and lasting transformation of the human spirit. By cultivating a deeper sense of inner peace, joy, and fulfillment, we can unlock a happiness that nobody can take away from us.
As the spiritual teacher, Ram Dass, so wisely puts it, “The spiritual journey is not about finding answers; it’s about being present in the questions.” May we embark on this journey with an open heart, a curious mind, and a willingness to discover the enduring power of spirituality.

I think we can all learn from the river’s example. Life is constantly flowing and changing, just like the river. Sometimes we’re faced with murky waters, and sometimes we’re blessed with crystal-clear waters. But no matter what, the river keeps moving forward. And that’s a lesson we can all apply to our own lives.
The Power of Resilience.
Rivers are incredibly resilient, and we can learn from their example. By developing our own resilience, we can navigate life’s challenges with greater ease and confidence. So, how can we do that? For me, it’s about embracing the unknown and being open to change. Just like the river, we need to be willing to adapt to changing circumstances and navigate obstacles with ease. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it.
Applying the River’s Wisdom to Our Lives
Here are a few tips that have helped me apply the river’s wisdom to my own life:
Let go of the past: Just like the river flows forward, we need to let go of past regrets and hurts. Holding onto them will only weigh us down and prevent us from moving forward.
Embrace change: Rivers are constantly changing, and we need to be willing to adapt to changing circumstances in our own lives. This might mean taking risks, trying new things, and stepping outside our comfort zones.
Focus on the present: Rivers don’t worry about the past or future; they focus on the present moment. We can do the same by practicing mindfulness and living in the here and now.
The Benefits of Just Moving On
Just moving on can have a profound impact on our lives. Some of the benefits I’ve experienced include:
Increased happiness: When we let go of past regrets and focus on the present moment, we can experience greater happiness and fulfillment.
Improved resilience: By developing our resilience and learning to navigate life’s challenges, we can better cope with stress and adversity.
Greater personal growth: Just moving on requires us to be adaptable, flexible, and open to new experiences. This can lead to greater personal growth and self-awareness.

To achieve the ultimate goal of yoga: liberation from suffering and union with the divine.
Maharshi Patanjali in Yoga Sutras has enunciated 8 limbs of yoga. Many people think that the eight limbs are eight steps, one after another. However, the limbs are not sequential; they are parts of the whole. It’s like the human body. The whole body develops together. All the organs develop together, but at their own suitable pace. Patanjali also says that the purpose of yoga is to stop misery before it comes. Whether it is greed, anger, jealousy, hatred, or frustration, all these negative emotions can be healed or re-oriented through yoga.~ Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi ShankarjiBeautifully explained! Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji’s analogy of the human body and its organs developing together at their own pace is a great way to understand the 8 limbs of yoga. It’s important to recognize that these limbs are not a linear progression, but rather interconnected aspects of the yogic path.
As Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras outline, the 8 limbs are:1. Yamas (universal ethics)2. Niyamas (personal observances)3. Asanas (postures)4. Pranayama (breath control)5. Pratyahara (sense withdrawal)6. Dharana (concentration)7. Dhyana (meditation)8. Samadhi (absorption in the divine)Each limb stoupports and complements the others, and they should be practiced in harmony to achieve the ultimate goal of yoga: liberation from suffering and union with the divine.Gurudev’s emphasis on yoga as a means to heal and reorient negative emotions is also crucial. By cultivating awareness, self-regulation, and inner peace through yoga, we can indeed overcome destructive tendencies like greed, anger, and hatred, and instead embody compassion, love, and wisdom. Thank you for sharing this inspiring message! -

Sudarshan Kriya is a powerful tool to balance and harmonize our entire being
Question – Gurudev, How does Sudarshan Kriya (Breathing Technique) taught at Art of Living work?
Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji – The breath connects the body and mind. For every emotion, there is a corresponding rhythm in the breath. Just as emotions affect our patterns of breathing, we can bring about changes in our mental and behavioral patterns by altering the rhythms of our breath. It flushes out anger, anxiety, and worries, leaving the mind completely relaxed and energized.Your body and mind have particular rhythms. For instance, you experience hunger and the need to sleep at different times. There is a rhythm in nature. Similarly, there is a rhythm in the body and in the emotions (of the mind). If you observe your thoughts, you will see that your doubts and anxieties also have a rhythm. There is a particular time in the year when you experience the same emotions. Sudarshan Kriya™ restores the harmony between the body and mind. When these rhythms are in sync, we feel a sense of harmony and well-being. And when these rhythms are not in sync, we experience discomfort and discontent.A wonderful explanation from Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji! He reveals the magic of Sudarshan Kriya, a breathing technique taught at Art of Living, which:1. Connects the body and mind2. Identifies and alters breath rhythms corresponding to emotions3. Flushes out negative emotions like anger, anxiety, and worries4. Leaves the mind relaxed and energized5. Harmonizes body and mind rhythms, promoting well-being and contentmentJust as nature has rhythms, our body and mind have natural rhythms too. Gurudev Sri Sri – Skillfully ! You have to do both. It will come spontaneously.A great question and a concise yet profound answer from Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar!Question: How to balance spiritual practice (sadhana) and relationships, without compromising either?Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: Achieve this balance skillfully! It’s not a trade-off; with the right approach, both can thrive. As you deepen in your sadhana, your relationships will naturally become more harmonious and loving. The key is to find a skillful balance, and this will come spontaneously with a little awareness and effort.Remember, spiritual growth and relationships are not mutually exclusive. In fact, a strong spiritual foundation can enhance your relationships, and nurturing relationships can support your spiritual journey. By being mindful and skillful, you can cultivate a beautiful balance between your inner growth and outer connections. -
When the mind is full of doubts or depressed, how do I convince myself that the fears that come up are not true?
Question – Gurudev, when the mind is full of doubts or depressed, how do I convince myself that the fears that come up are not true?
Gurudev Sri Sri – When the mind is full of doubts or is depressed, it means that the level of prana has come down. When the level of prana goes down, doubts arise and we become sad. So, the remedy is to increase the prana level, through pranayama, proper food, exercise, singing and fasting. Go on a fruit diet for a few days. We keep on stuffing ourselves with food, even if we are not hungry.A wonderful question and answer from Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar!Question: How to overcome doubts and fears when the mind is depressed?Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: When the mind is full of doubts or depressed, it’s a sign of low prana (life force). To overcome this, increase the prana level through:1. Pranayama (breathing exercises)2. Proper food (nourishing and balanced diet)3. Exercise (physical activity)4. Singing (joyful and uplifting music)5. Fasting (periodic detoxification)He also suggests going on a fruit diet for a few days to cleanse and rejuvenate the body and mind.Remember, when prana levels are high, the mind is clear, confident, and fearless. By boosting prana, you can overcome doubts and depression, and cultivate a more positive and resilient mindset. -

The Spiritual Master
Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
17th October, 1995Chapter 2 – The Path To The Goal That Is YouDay 89 – The Spiritual MasterThere are 3 Sanskrit words : sukha (pleasure), dukha (sorrow) and sakha (companion). These have one thing in common ‘kha’ whichmeans senses. The self experiences the world through the senses. When the senses are with the self, that is joy, or sukha, because the self is the source of all joy or pleasure. When the senses are turned away from the self, or dukha in the mud, lost in the object that is dukha, misery. Mud, misery, mind, they are all connected.Sukha is the nature of self. And all the sense objects are a diving board to take you back to the self. You close your eyes during any pleasant experience as you smell a nice flower, or as you taste or touch something nice. Sukha is that which takes you to the Self. Dukha is that which takes you away from the self.Sorrow means that you have been caught up in an object that has pulled you off your Self which is nonchanging. Sakha is the companion who is there in all experiences of dukha sorrow and of sukha pleasure.Knowledge is your companion, and the master is the embodiment of knowledge. If you are stuck in an object, his wisdom pulls you out and leads you back to yourself. Eakha (sa kha) also means he is the senses. Sakha is one who has become your senses. It means you get Knowledge through him, he is your sixth sense. As you trust your mind, so you trust him.Usually a friend is an object of your senses, but a sakha has become your senses. Sakha means, ‘He is my senses, I see the world through his wisdom’. Your head will be in the mud in a few years, in the meantime, don’t put mud in your head while you are still alive.See through the eyes of the Master and you will see the whole world as divine. Do not follow me. In fact, you cannot follow me, because I am behind you to push you forward. You have to leave everything behind and move ahead. All your experiences, your relations everything is a part of the past. Drop everything.Leave the whole world of your memories behind, including me. Stop looking for more, be free. Then compassion will flow from you.Question – When people do not follow anyone, is it usually not out of fear or rebelliousness?Gurudev – One kind of ‘do not follow me’ comes from fear orrebelliousness. Another kind comes from a heightened awareness. You cannot follow me because I am behind you and I am in you. For too long you have been a sheep, now it is time to be a lion.Question – How do you feel if someone praises you?Gurudev – Shy, happy, great, embarrassed. It does something to you, doesn’t it? But it doesn’t do anything to me. When you praise the moon, the mountains, Lake Lucerne, the Black Forest, it doesn’t do anything to them. They remain the same. Just like that, I’m part of nature. If you enjoy praising me, you may do so.In fact, you have no choice. You can do with me whatever you like, I’m there for you. You are lost on the street. There is rain, thunder, wind and cold, you need shelter. You look around and you find a door. You come to the door because it is more inviting, more charming, more joyful than anything out on the street. When you enter the door of the Master, you come home. You see the worldfrom a new perspective. From inside you can still hear the thunder and see the rain, but it no longer disturbs you. Inside there is warmth and security. The world looks much more beautiful, not a nasty place, but a place filled with love, cooperation, compassion. Your fear drops away. When you can see the whole world through the eyes of the Master, it is a sign that you have come to the Master, you have entered the door. This is the purpose of having a Master. If you are still seeing the world as before, then you have not yet come to the Master, you are still standing out in the street, cold and wet, you are only looking at the door, you have not yet entered in.Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi ShankarjiCelebrating Silence -

Chapter 2 – The Path To The Goal That Is You
Day 88 – Knowledge (Continued)If you are in love with the divine, then you can digest knowledge. Love is the appetizer, seva is the exercise. Without love and seva, knowledge becomes indigestible.Question – If love is the appetizer, what is the main course?Knowledge is the main course.Question – What is the dessert?Gurudev – I’m the dessert.Everything here is recycled. The earth is millions of years old, the Alps, the water, the air. Billions of people have breathed the same air. You are recycled. All the particles in your body are old, your thoughts and emotions are recycled, your mind is recycled. You are a recycled person. Everything here is recycled. Consciousness is recycled it is the same old consciousness. Remind yourself that everything here is recycled material so relax. Everything goes to where it came from. Recycling brings back purity and hygiene. Knowledge recycles the mind. Knowledge keeps everything fresh. That is why you can keep recycling the same creation.A mind in knowledge finds everything fresh. If you do not put knowledge into your mind, the mind gets rotten. Knowledge brings the mind back to purity. Recycling brings purity and hygiene.Question – Gurudev, what is your message?Gurudev – I have no message. In order to give a message you have to be far away. A message needs distance. A message is of the past or of the future. A message is impersonal and lifeless. Knowledge cannot be a message. The wise one will not give you a message but will simply awaken you.God will not give you a message. For God to give you a message, God has to be far away from you. God is closer to you than your breath. How can He give you a message? The wise neither need a message nor give a message. The unwise would give a message and want a message and would be unable to use the message anyway. Whoever needs the message will not use it. And one who can use the message will not need it.Question – What is the difference between knowledge and a message?Gurudev – You can read about living in the moment again andagain, but it only becomes knowledge when you experience it. You can read the ingredients but when you taste the food, the information becomes knowledge. Knowledge has an end. Knowledge completes. So also does discipleship, for the goal of the disciple is to acquire knowledge. Once you cross the water, however nice the boat is, you get off the boat. After 12 years, the disciple completes his studies. The master asks the disciple, to behave at par with him and allow the Divine, Brahman to manifest, he thus ends the discipleship.Sakha is a beloved companion in life and death. Sakha only wants the beloved. He longs only for the beloved. Sakha does not care about knowledge or liberation. His love is infinite and infinity can never be full. His love is complete in its eternal incompleteness. There is no end on the path of love.Arjuna was a sakha to Krishna and although Krishna was the perfect master, he was a sakha too. What are you, a shishya, a disciple, or a sakha a beloved companion?Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi ShankarjiCelebrating Silence -
Life has come to a standstill before a major decision. I often wonder whether my decision will be right or wrong. How can I take the decision?
Question – Gurudev, life has come to a standstill before a major decision. I often wonder whether my decision will be right or wrong. How can I take the decision?
Gurudev Sri Sri – Just look back at your life in the past. This is not the first time that your mind is confused in a dilemma. You have faced these types of questions and situations many times earlier as well and every time you have received help to overcome it. And whenever you ask for help, you will surely get it. Your confusion will be cleared in due time so don’t worry. -
If children are busy attending six hours of school, and then four more hours of tuition classes, how and when can they get the time to enhance their talents? How can the education system be reformed?
Question – Gurudev, If children are busy attending six hours of school, and then four more hours of tuition classes, how and when can they get the time to enhance their talents? How can the education system be reformed?
Gurudev Sri Sri – I suggest you to make them regularly practice a little Pranayama and to meditate daily. They will not feel the need for tuition classes anymore. If you really have to, then one hour of tuitions is more than sufficient for them. To enhance their intelligence and skills, you also need to pay close attention to the kind of food they eat and their behaviour. Do not give children fried foods to eat right in the morning. Make them have lots of vegetables and fruits in their diet. Adopt Ayurvedic techniques and give them herbal medicines like the Medhya Rasayana (a nervine tonic for boosting memory and reducing mental stress), give them milk with Ojasvita (a milk powder made with combination of seven powerful and nutritious herbs). So encourage children to take such good food and supplements to enhance their intelligence and skills. -

Chapter 2 – The Path To The Goal That Is YouDay 87 – KnowledgeYou walk until you come to the ocean. You don’t walk or run in the ocean – you float and swim. Like this, once you come to the Master, seeking stops, blossoming begins. You seek until you come to the Master. Seeking is a desire. Desire is a thought.Thoughts are in the mind. The mind is in the big mind. The big mind in me is love. Emotions are ripples in love. Love is all knowledge. Every atom of the big mind is crammed with knowledge. Knowing this, you stop seeking. You are knowledge. Every atom in you is shimmering with Knowledge. In Sanskrit, this iscalled go.Go has 4 meanings :1. Knowledge2. Movement3. Achievement4. Freedom or liberationPal means friend or protector – one who takes care of you. Be a Gopal (go-pal) be a friend in knowledge. Often you become friends by :1. Gossiping about negative things2. Complaining3. Similar cravings or aversions4. Common enemies or common problems5. Common goals or common addictionsYou become friends with someone because you have something in common. But coming together in knowledge is rare. Be a friend in knowledge. Uplift each other in knowledge. All satsangis are gopals reminding each other of the knowledge, coming together for knowledge. That is Gopal.Be a protector of this Knowledge. Knowledge is a burden if it robs you of innocence. Knowledge is a burden if it makes you feel you are special. Knowledge is a burden if it gives you an idea that you are wise. Knowledge is a burden if it is not integrated into life. Knowledge is a burden if it does not bring you joy. Knowledge is a burden if it does not set you free.Knowledge must be properly digested and assimilated. Indigestion of the knowledge leads to development of a subtle ego which has no cure. Subtle ego gives rise to habits that are not life supporting.Indigestion of Knowledge leads to :1. Subtle ego2. Adamancy3. Tendency to preach4. Using knowledge for one’s own small ends Familiarity without depth or understanding flakiness5. Disinterest, taking for granted, lack of awareness6. I made a promise to someone but now I know that it was not right. How do I get out of my promise?
Question – Gurudev, I made a promise to someone but now I know that it was not right. How do I get out of my promise?
Gurudev Sri Sri – If the promise you made gives peace to someone then you must fulfill it. If it causes pain both, to you and the other person then just move on. A promise made in ignorance has no importance. -
If the heart wants something but my responsibilities prevent me from striving to get that, then what should I do?
Question – Gurudev, if the heart wants something but my responsibilities prevent me from striving to get that, then what should I do?
Gurudev Sri Sri – You should fulfil the responsibilities in life first. You can always listen to the heart a little later and act on it. If you only listen to what your heart says, and do just that, then you will get into trouble. -
Wake up and see the truth of life. What are you hanging on to?
Wake up and see the truth of life. What are you hanging on to? What breaks your heart? Someone’s behavior? Someone’s words? Weakness of the heart should be shunned and truth needs to be known. What is truth?
Everything in the world is changing. Has changed, will change in the future. And you are going to drop your own body which you love so much. You want to move your hand, you cannot move, you want to lift your eyes, you cannot, you want to say something, you cannot move your tongue. Your whole body will strike and then you will simply have to exit out of this body, You exit dejected and frustrated because your body is totally rebellious to your commands. And the body will not listen to what you say.As long as you’re alive, wake up and do something good. Forget about it. Be bold, courageous. Don’t get stuck with the behavior of people. You needed it. It makes you strong. Be like a lion. Roar like a lion. Joy comes and goes, misery comes and goes. The Pleasure you are hanging on to cannot stay forever, cannot sustain you all the time. So pleasure and pain comes and goes in life. What is the big deal in a broken heart.Know that you love everyone and everyone loves you and never doubt in the love. Its like something like space. It cannot diminish, it cannot go away. That’s true love. . Don’t waste your precious life in all the unwanted thoughts of your mind. If your limb is broken you can put a plaster. Your heart gets broken, you wake up and it’s never broken, its rubber. Make your heart like rubber, not glass. Glass can break in heat or cold. Make it elastic like rubber. With knowledge and awareness, transform your mind and your actions. Feel grateful to be in this knowledge.Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji -
I am not liking this behavior of mine. How can I overcome this?
Question – Gurudev, due to some hurt l’ve been abusing and cursing God. I’ve always been a Divine loving person and I am not liking this behavior of mine. How can I overcome this?
Gurudev Sri Sri – Never mind. If you curse the Divine it is not going to react to you. Don’t worry, it’s the safest! Otherwise if you get angry with somebody, they will take revenge on you. This is the beauty of astrology. Astrology tells you that you are suffering because this planet is in this position. How can you get angry with a planet? So your mind, your anger, your frustration, and the cause of you unhappiness is given a bigger cosmic dimension. The cosmic dimension gives the much needed calmness and that strength which you need to face a tough situation. What you really need in a tough situation is inner strength and inner calmness. That inner strength comes to you with this understanding. -
Out of the three doshas : vata, pitta and kapha, which prakriti is good for doing meditation?
Question – Gurudev, out of the three doshas : vata, pitta and kapha, which prakriti is good for doing meditation?Gurudev Sri Sri – By doing meditation you can go beyond all the three doshas (imbalances in the body): Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Meditation is the destroyer of all the three doshas. If you first do meditation and then check your naadi (pulse), you will see that it has changed. If there is equilibrium (sama-dosha) between these prakriti then that is suitable for doing meditation. If you are healthy then your meditation will be deeper and by doing meditation your health improves. Both these things are there. -
I’m a student and there are so many distractions around me.
Question – I’m a student and there are so many distractions around me. When I start studying I easily get distracted. Is there any permanent solution this?
Gurudev Sri Sri – Why do you want a permanent solution? There is no permanent medicine in life. Whenever you get distracted, see what is distracting you? When you’re watching an interesting movie, the mind is not distracted. There is some craving, there is something that you want. And when you’re a student the real distraction is your boyfriend or girlfriend. That’s a distraction. At that time you have to take a stand, ‘Okay, now for the next few days I’m going to focus on my studies as exams are nearing. I have to prepare myself, look at my career! The very fact that you feel you are getting distracted, you’re already coming out of it. So you don’t have to be too concerned about it. Definitely do some pranayama, yoga, some exercises. -
How does one maintain calm and cool during unpleasant situations?
Question – Gurudev, How does one maintain calm and cool during unpleasant situations?
Gurudev Sri Sri – Every event is an opportunity to deepen your wisdom. An unpleasant event somewhere kindles the deep wisdom we are born with. Whether positive or negative, every event kindles this in us. If an event overpowers us, we lose our emotions and intellect. Then we need help. That is where communion comes in. We sit together and sing and the load is lifted off. Everyone must take some time in life to dwell on the truth. This is satsang, to be in the company of truth. Keep on encountering truth in our lives. Just a few moments can bring such peace, stability and strength. -
Sometimes I find knowledge is boring. Is it alright to follow something else that is more fun? Please guide.
Question – Gurudev, sometimes I find knowledge is boring. Is it alright to follow something else that is more fun? Please guide.
Gurudev Sri Sri – People think this is something boring. They feel knowledge is so serious. I say follow knowledge and fun follows you, but follow fun and only misery will follow. Self-knowledge is that which makes you lighter and like a child again. It brings enthusiasm from within. That is exactly what spirituality is. -
Can the wisdom of yoga help the with de-addiction?
Question – Gurudev, Can the wisdom of yoga help the with de-addiction?
Gurudev Sri Sri – Many of our youth are struggling with the problems of addiction. I tell you if they choose to take up the path of Yoga instead, a different intoxication and energy surges from within that uplifts and takes them to a higher place. I often tell the youth that once you come to me, I shall provide you with the highest intoxicant before which every other intoxicant will fail. Yoga is a kind of intoxication too, but it is one that uplifts you and elevates you to greater progress. It prevents your downfall into ignorance and negativity. It brings a wave of harmony and belongingness throughout society. Such is the greatness of Yoga. -
You are suffering.
Sometimes you feel that you haven’t harmed anyone in ur present life, or even thought ill of anyone, yet you are suffering.
You should always remember that people’s ideas, emotions and opinions keep on changing. Everything changes. Many friends become enemies & enemies become friends. You’re friends with somebody & suddenly for no obvious reason they become ur enemy. You haven’t done anything wrong to anyone, yet they turn out to be unfriendly towards you. Sometimes people who you don’t even know will come to ur help. You haven’t done them any great favour, yet they help you. This friendship & animosity works on a deeper principle called karma. If ur time is good, ur worst enemies also start behaving like ur friends. And if ur time is not good, then ur closest friends too will misunderstand you & start behaving like ur enemies. If you look back, you will realise that somewhere you have sown the seeds for a tree of thorns. So today, or sometime later, you will surely have to reap the thorns of that tree. There are two types of karma: one that immediately gives fruit and second, one that yields fruit sometime later. For example, if you place ur hand in a fire, you will immediately get burnt, right now, not tomorrow or any time later. But if you sow a mango seed today, it will take a few years for it to grow into a tree. In the same way, some karmas yield their fruits almost instantly, while some take time to bear fruit.Look back at ur own life & see how many challenges you have had and how you have sailed through them & come out. This will give you confidence. The other option is to realise that you have to pay some debt, and so you are undergoing what you are undergoing. But do not think that every problem or suffering that you go through is only because of ur actions from past lifetimes. Some of it also comes because of the foolishness and ignorance from the present lifetime also.To free yourself from the results of past actions, you should regularly practice sadhana (spiritual practices). When you see this from a bigger perspective, great inner strength dawns within you and you are able to smile through any situation.Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji -
What is the key to achieve more growth and success in life?
Question – Gurudev, what is the key to achieve more growth and success in life?
Gurudev Sri Sri – Three things are needed to achieve in life :1. Real intention – There should be a real need to have whatever it is you want. Our wants keep changing, but if it is our need, we will get it. The want has to become our need.2. Self effort – One has to put effort for whatever you want. You can’t simply sit, and keep wishing, ‘I want this, I want that’. Have you put your effort? Has the want become your need? Have you worked towards it? Have you put your 100%? This is necessary.3. Time or karma – If karma is there, the time is right, you will get it. Suppose, I wish to see the moon now, on a dark night. No matter what intention I put, how can I see the moon now? I have to wait for another 15 days to see the full moon. On the new moon day, if you are wishing for the full moon, then you have to wait. If you plant a pomegranate tree today and say, ‘No, I want the fruit now’ Come on, you have to wait for another 2-3 years. The pomegranate tree will give you fruit only in 2-3 years. So, time or karma is a factor. -
What is the purpose of life?
Question – Gurudev, what is the purpose of life?
Gurudev Sri Sri – When you feel that everything is going to stay here, but I am going to die one day, and everything appears meaningless, what you do appears to be meaningless, at this time I would like you to read Yoga Vasistha. You can play the Yoga Vasistha CDs and listen to it, or take the book and read it. You will understand the nature of consciousness, who you are, what you are. This feeling that everything is meaningless, there is no point, why are we here, why this universe, these questions indicate a very mature intellect. This is the right time to go deep into knowledge. Vedic wisdom will also help you.It is very fortunate, you should feel very happy that you got this question. Many people don’t feel this for a very long time. So when you feel it, you should think, ‘Oh I am so fortunate’. -
How do we grow higher in evolution and how do we get there?
Question – Gurudev, how do we grow higher in evolution and how do we get there?
Gurudev Sri Sri – When trivial things, unimportant things lose their significance in life. When you wake up and realise, ‘Oh, these are small things’, and you stop complaining and talking behind others back, and all these little little tricks of the mind. When you are tired of negativity, you are already growing and when you accept the world as it is, then you’re growing one step higher. -
I have so much love for you, it is so much in me that I don't know how to express it to you. Can you please tell me what to do?
Question – Gurudev, I have so much love for you, it is so much in me that I don’t know how to express it to you. Can you please tell me what to do?
Gurudev Sri Sri – You have said it already. (Laughs) True love always feel like that. You feel you cannot express yourself, because love cannot be contained in expression. Love is so huge. And for ages, people have tried to express their love and finally they felt they cannot. Even the great sage Narada said, ‘Anirvachaniyam prema swarupam’. You cannot express it. The nature of true love is that it is beyond expression. -
What should a person who is physically, mentally and socially weak do to become strong in all the three areas?
Question – Gurudev, what should a person who is physically, mentally and socially weak do to become strong in all the three areas?
Gurudev Sri Sri – First of all, you should not brand yourself that you are very weak. The moment you brand yourself as weak, you find yourself even weaker. Know that you don’t know yourself, you don’t know your strength. You will find that you have enough strength to do what you want to do.
