An enlightened person in that state of mind of total inner emptiness may look completely spaced out (bhranta). When you are hollow and empty, you can see that person. That is what happens when you know, see one's Self everywhere.

अन्तर्विकल्पशून्यस्य बहिः स्वच्छन्दचारिणः । Do you see what is happening inside you every moment? Choices are rising. You are choosing everything. You are calculating, dividing, discriminating and choosing. This is happening continuously, not in your actions, but in your mind. Janaka says, अन्तर्विकल्पशून्यस्य, ‘In my mind, there is no conflict, there is no choice, there is nothing.’ बहिः स्वच्छन्दचारिणः । This is so beautiful we really have to look closely at it! ‘But, in my action, there is so much purity, clarity, and perfection. Inside it is conflict-free.’
Many people may be outwardly acting properly but they may be filled with conflicts inside. They choose from these conflicts and react. Inwardly, the mind might feel that you should have something but outside you say you should not have it. There is a conflict.
The morality we have built around us on the outside is not by virtue or by our very nature but because of inner and outer conflicts. That is not स्वच्छन्दचारिणः ।
And it is also not right the other way around i.e., if there is no choice then you will be chaotic and impure in your actions. You will do what you want. This is another mistake. We have seen several examples of this, in this decade. बहिः स्वच्छन्दचारिणः । The outer action has not been right for the people. Some people who claim to be very spiritual say that they are very empty; so they do whatever they want in their minds. Several spiritual movements have completely broken down because of this.
अन्तर्विकल्पशून्यस्य । Inside there is no conflict, no vikalpa, or choice. And outside, the action and activity is pure.
भ्रान्तस्येव दशास्तास्तास्तास्तादृशा एव जानते ॥ Who can understand such a person? Only one who is like Him; otherwise one cannot even try to understand an enlightened person, or a Master. It is impossible, because every calculation you make is wrong. The Divine cannot come into your preview of calculations. It is much bigger than you, much bigger than the small mind. So all your calculations, understanding, opinions and guesses about the Divine breaks down. Only one who is like Him can understand Him. An enlightened person in that state of mind of total inner emptiness may look completely spaced out (bhranta). They may walk as though they are confused. It is possible that they may just walk around like a confused person; looking at everything – at the same tree or people again and again. If you stare at somebody, what happens? They might ask you why you are staring at them and what has happened to you. Bhranta means one who looks as though he is confused and spaced out. And only one who is like Him can understand Him. He expresses what he is. It may appear as if he looks confused, or stunned. Only one who is of his caliber can understand him. When you are hollow and empty, you can see that person. That is what happens when you know, see one’s Self everywhere.
