The Kalpavriksha of Jyotirmath – A Landmark Tree of India: Its India’s oldest living tree, the Himalayan mulberry (Morus serrata) in Joshimath, Near Holy Badrinath in Uttarakhand Himalaya. The Guru Adi Shankaracharya mediated under this tree, who also renovated Badrinath Temple. Now a Shiva Temple is established under this tree and the tree has been protected using iron fencing by the forest department.
