Hedychium spicatum,Kapoor kachri, Shati, Karchur

Hedychium spicatum (Kapoor kachri, Shati, Karchur) – Zingiberaceae, a rhizomatous, fragrant leafy herb with robust stem. Rhizomes have strong aromatic odour and bitter.

 Rhizome is aromatic, acidic, bitter, pungent, carminative, stomachic, stimulant, expectorant, anti-asthmatic, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory. It is useful in asthma, bronchitis, vomiting, dyspepsia, and inflammations. One of the most important plant in Ayurveda.
